Smoking one year on

So a year today since the smoking ban was inroduced in England and it would appear all is joy and harmony in our smoke free country.
Well, as a former pub landlord I tend to disagree. This admittedly may be through personal financial ruin brought about by the cigarette ban - I was made bankrupt in March 2008, my home is about to be repossessed and my family is being torn apart, but the same question I had a year ago still remains - how can a legally sold product be banned from a public place?
If you are one of Britains 12 million or so smokers who contribute somewhere in the region of £48 million a day in tax (don't you dare let them tell you you are a drain on the health service) and you can feel the gradual encroachment of societies disapproval being heaped upon you (pariah, leper, social outcast, don't stand in the doorway losers) let me know - a year to the day and its time to get something done.
A final thought for now, do you realise for many under 25's taking cocaine is certainly regarded as more acceptable than smoking a cigarette!
